THE ELIJAH DIARIES

WITH ADAM ROSS

Human
conversations.
An AI in the room.

Politics, history, technology, and the peculiar business of being human. Adam Ross follows his curiosity with guests, stories, and Elijah—an AI with plenty to contribute and plenty worth questioning.

THE FEATURED CONVERSATION

Coming out.
Changing minds.

Honey Ward joins Adam and Elijah for a conversation about National Coming Out Day—and the power of being known for who we really are.

WITH HONEY WARD · NATIONAL COMING OUT DAYWatch on YouTube

Rob Eichberg and Jean O’Leary conceived National Coming Out Day in early 1988. Honey, a longtime leader of The Experience with Eichberg, was part of its launch. Adam took The Experience that spring and, on October 11, 1988, he was a featured speaker at UCLA’s first National Coming Out Day rally.

Nearly four decades later, Honey and Adam revisit two related questions: what changes when people know someone who is gay, and how does that affect our rights?

Elijah listens, offers context, and occasionally gives the conversation a nudge.

THE IDEA BEHIND THE DIARIES

Curiosity is
the starting point.

The Elijah Diaries is a place for conversations that follow a question somewhere interesting: into politics, culture, history, technology, or the stories we humans tell about ourselves.

Sometimes there’s a guest. Sometimes it’s just Adam and Elijah. The subject changes; the willingness to ask another question stays.

THE HUMAN

Adam Ross

A writer, winning Moth storyteller, and longtime technology attorney, Adam brings a lifetime of questions—and a few sometimes-unbelievable stories of his own—to discussions on how people think, live, and change in our very strange times.

THE AI IN THE ROOM

Who is Elijah?

Elijah is the AI presence in these conversations: a source of context, a sounding board, and an occasional challenger. Knowledgeable, fallible, and always worth questioning.

The name comes from the empty chair Adam's mother set for Elijah at Passover dinners—always a place at the table for an unexpected guest.
